How to Help Your Kid Choose a Hobby

Hey Reader!

If you are subscribed to my YouTube Channel, you may already know that 6 months ago I had a little boy. Needless to say, things have been pretty crazy around my house!

Now that he is finally eating well, I am getting back into the swing of things!

After our little guy was born, I was spending a lot of time caring for him (anyone else have to do triple feeding with their babies 😩 ??). In addition to having a new baby at home, my oldest daughter decided she wanted to start a little business and my husband and I were spending a lot of time helping her with her new project.

My oldest has always been very good at knowing exactly what she wants to do and asking us to help her figure out how to learn new things. She has learned the basics of crochet, violin, and now soap making.

But my middle daughter wasn't able to come up with any hobbies that she wanted to do that were hers. And every time I would ask her what hobby she would like to do, she would tell me, "I want to learn to crochet." When I would ask her what instrument she would like to start next year, she would say "violin." And she most recently was telling us that she wanted to start a soap making business... juuuuuust like her sister.

I decided it would be a bit much for me to help my four-year-old start a competing soap business under the same roof (even with a seven-year old its a lot of work for the parents when you child has a business!).

Instead, we realized that our middle daughter needed a little help choosing a hobby, and we set out to help her do that!

So in my most recent post and video, I go through exactly how we helped her choose a unique hobby that she can be excited about. And I also give you minimalist hobby ideas that won't add a bunch of clutter to your house!

Let's face it, Reader, everything (and I mean EVERYTHING!) has gotten more expensive in the last year. Combine that with 3 unexpected and substantial expenses and well... I got a new job! Not only do I actually enjoy it (I get paid to work out!), but it feels really good to be able to set a financial goal and accomplish it with the extra income. (We've already tackled paying off two of the extra expenses, yay!) If you're finding yourself in a similar situation, you've got to check out my...

I struggled with feeding my babies. And not just for the first couple of weeks... Even after going through the infant stage 3 times, I wished there was an easy way to know that a baby is getting enough food.I mean, couldn't we come with gauges on either moms or babies to make sure everything is transferring properly? Well it turns out, there ARE practical ways to know if your baby is getting enough food, and it doesn't involved buying a baby scale or anything like that (phew!).When a friend...
